Coonan 357 automatic!

Yep, wouldn't catch me dead with one of those 2000$ overpriced desert eagles. Plus the only appeal the desert eagle ever had was its .50ae cartridge...beyond that, whats the point?

This Coonan has ### appeal and cartridge appeal.

So I'm hearing it has a plethora of reliability issues? This is with 1st generation models and not 2nd generation models? How do I tell the difference?

Usually the B Model had a comp. There are a few really great articles on the guns development and history floating around on the web.

As a side note, I've picked up two DE for under 1200. No way would I pay 2000 for one.

Lack of knowledge is dangerous... Acting you have it a even more so... just a global statement not pointing at anyone in particular..

I've owned 4 different B's in the past and none had the optional comp.

Lets not get things confused here.. There were the Original coonan A & B's these were all stainless.. They were originally released in 1977 the A was a standard link & pin system like on the 1911 the B was linkless..

The new coonans are available in Black and stainless and are a couple years old..

On that note, judging by Questar's offering, since they are the importer, are those the "New" model without the reliability issues? None of those appear to come with a compensator, nor do I want one.

give it time i bet Glock will come out with a .357 shooter, lol.

This one's in .45 ACP with moonclips but I hear a .357 Magnum will be out soon. :D

Not only are they they new guns they are from a new company.. Although the man behind it all is the same Dan Coonan..

So the Questar offerings are good to go? All new types, all bugs worked out, all reliable?

I'm also a little wary regarding Questar and not in stock items that require deposit though after reading some horror stories here. I wonder if they are just a special order item, or they are actually waiting on a shipment.
