Coonan/Les Baer/Desert Eagle table top comparaison

What did I just watch?

Was that dude actually talking about the gun or his lifestyle? Because nowhere did I hear anything related to technical or manufacturing merits of the Coonan..
yep he makes me want to puke half of the time, he has over taken Nutnfancy on my shut the fxxk up list, at least nutn is actually reviewing products, however badly.

It's kind of growing on me. How has it been for feeding reliability?

150 rounds... 0 issues, sights are dead on and trigger is a dream... Some may call it expensive, my call on that is your are getting a lot of powerfull pistol for that kind of dough and the fun factor... Oh la la... Just saying. JP.

I've taken on the belief that cheap is not the way to go with a 1911. I'm currently eyeing a springfield though. I'd love a wilson combat, but I'm just never going to want to pay 4 thousand bucks for a pistol.

Coonan is neat, but I don't think it's for me. I think If I ever get a 357 it will be a S&W custom shop revolver. The triggers on those things are just unbelievable out of the box.
I own a S&W 627 8 Times PC, i will put them side by side and compare triggers, will keep you posted... JP.

The Coonan sure does look nice. If more people had them there might be more .357 brass laying around the range. The reloaders out there would be happy lol.

I understand that Coonan Inc has stepped up their production rates in the last year. No more long waits.

I've been finding more and more brass on the action type ranges....spread out in patterns and radius' that make me speculate that they are seeing more time in shooters hands than ever before. I've heard now of several other members at my local range owning them and being very satisfied with the level of reliability and performance.

I've owned alot of Magnumatics.....this one hits the top of the heap, and scores points in every major category. *Reliable, accurate, good trigger, and fun factor.

I've only ever had a small handful of jams and that was because of my reloading *I failed to resize the case back to factory dimensions but otherwise "flawless" with .357

The LAR Grizzly only has it beat because its more accurate, has never had a single hiccup and the "fun factor" is ridiculous.

I would only suggest that the Grizz loses in any comparison because its just so ungainly in terms of grip size. The Coonan is far more manageable.

I've had mine for the better part of a year now.

The .38 spl spring it came with was seemingly useless at first

*it didn't want to cycle factory ammo even after doubling the prescribed break in number of rounds.....and then I discovered a reload that worked insanely well with it.

now I've got a flamethrower when I want to shoot the HotStuff.....and a total pussycat when I want to plink and focus on that crispy nice trigger.

If you haven't had a chance to try one yet.....dont be afraid to grab a box at the range if someone offers to let you go a few rounds with her.

She won't disappoint you. :)

Did not have my trigger scale handy but did a little comparative video of both my Coonan and my S&W 627 -8Times PC and those triggers are very close but the 627 is a tiny bit lighter and the Coonan just have a small take on the trigger... Very close all tougheter... JP.

Just saw the video and noticed, funny that the coonan went with what seems to be a novak rear sight cut.
Novaks are usually more tactical with sight rackers, night nights and such and such. I doubt many people would actually carry a coonan.
I definatly cannot afford one and would probably have other firearm priorities if i had some spare cash, but seems like the platform would of been put to much better use with bomar sights.

Very easy shooting sights, the 3 dot system with the the Tritium front are so easy to pick up, i like that.. JP.
