I am looking for a Cooper Dealer in Canada other than Jo-Brooks (who never replies to letters and has no e-mail contact) or Wholesale Sports (who failed to place an order that I did not discover for 10 months).

There isn't one. Your best bet is to find one in the U.S. that you like and have Questar import it. A little more expensive but you are going to get your rifle as opposed to unreturned calls and emails and unfulfilled promises.

When you get yours post pics. They are great rifles.

Wholesale SAYS they import them, but I refuse to do any sort of meaningful business with THEM.

There IS a guy in 'skatchewan apparently who deals with them. 'twouldn't surprise me if Rick over at Alberta acticalT-ay ifleR-ay could getcha one as well

I found, with JoBrooks in Brandon Manitoba, it was a little bit frustrating as far as communication was concerned. However having said that, I phoned a few times and just pinned him down, I told him that I needed information regarding the purchase, etc. His name, I think was Ron, after that, things seemed a bit better. I am very happy with his efforts at getting me my new Cooper.
I have contacted Questar twice, and did not get a heck of a lot of info, and help, although they may have been busy at the time.
I have heard that WSS sometimes will order, however, I am not sure that they still do this type of ordering.
If you really want one of these fine rifles, keep at it, I feel that it was well worth the effort, at least in my case.
Good luck.

I called Cooper today :) they actually have a person who answers the phone, :):) and the only two authorized Cooper dealers in Canada are Joe Brooks, Manitoba, and Wholesale Sports :(. Sooooo, I sent an email to WSS asking about their ability to order Coopers. We'll see what happens next!

As far as I know WSS's policy is 50% nonrefundable deposit so I would be thinking I want an order # or something that would confirm that the rifle is ordered and that they got the order right!! Oh yea delivery is about a year min.

Not true, well Edmonton anyways, if you ever change your mind, they'll just put it on display sell it to someone else.
As for your deposit, you'll just get store credit or your money back if you have your receipt.

His name was likely Rob, aka Robby. I'm not sure how long ago you dealt with him, but its my understanding that he has sold the shop, the new owner being Travis. I do believe that Rob still works there though.

I am a local from Brandon. Travis is in the process of purchasing the shop from Rob. There is another full time employee whose name is Neil.

I think as many phone calls as possible to Travis letting him know that we want and will order Cooper's from him would encourage him to complete the remaining hoops that he has to jump through to get the guns across the line.

Hurry, before the new law comes in Dec.2008, and they all have to be engraved as per UN markings and probably will never come across the border then.

I saw the last order of 6 Coopers that went through the shop about 6 months ago and they were some awesome guns.

I emailed Corlane a couple of weeks ago and they said they are in the process of being set up as a cooper dealer. Send them a line and see how they are making out.
