Im I the only one who thought Coopers were such amazing shooters till I found out they were shot at under 50 yards in a indoor test facility.

I was always wowed to see these test targets and assumed all tests were done at 100 yards.

I wonder if Savage and Tikka would do the same groups in a similar test??

Id still love to own a Cooper in a .20 Vartarg or similar cartridge though and think they are very classy guns.

Cheers!!

Is the shooting distance not listed on the test target? If it is not,it should be.

I haven't yet received my Cooper rifle, but I was told that they are test fired at 47 yards. However the accuracy guarantee is still three shots into 1/2" at 100 yards. After talking with several Cooper owners, their rifles would indeed shot at least that well.I really don't pay much attention to any single test target,as a single three shot group isn't much to judge accuracy by.I once shot an .080" three shot group at 100 yards with one of my 300ultramags,but I certainly don't expect to be able to shoot groups like that on a regular basis.

I wouldnt put too much faith into test targets. My cz 527 in 221 fireball came with a 1.25" 3 shot @ 50m. My 40 gr nosler bt load will do 5 in .67" @ 100 yards average

Based on the "one" Cooper I have in 260 Rem, I don't think you will be disappointed ... It shoots pretty much everything under 0.75" @ 100M ...with the "best" loads consistently under 1/2". My best loads are not based on the factory load data.
