With the Chinese flooding the market with counterfeit, copies, knockoffs, whatever,it's 'buyer beware'.Generally you get what you pay for and if its 'too good to be true'-it generally IS.

But on the other hand, sometimes you can get perfectly acceptable ,functional stuff ,albeit maybe not as well finished as the 'real McCoy' ie Norinco JW15 copies of the BRNO which are good value for the money, definately not in the same class but often just as accurate and for a fraction of the price. But since Norinco draws from several manufacturers, quality control can be hit or miss and some models are better or worse than others. My NS 522 is a good example, superb accuracy but a really crappy stock, but for $199 on sale,I couldn't and didn't pass it up.Same for the JW20 copy of the Browning SA on sale for $125....

But my question is related to optics, are there some names and models that are perfectly acceptable and functionable but not 'name brand'?
