copper alternative to stainless pin tumbling?

If you order from the above source, make sure you get the 430 SS media so that it is maganetic. That makes it far easier to pick up stray pins.

Lately, I have taken to wet tumbling without any stainless media. It doesn't clean the insides of the cases or primer pockets quite as thoroughly, but they still come out looking pretty good. The advantage is not having to deal with separating the media.

Has anyone tried eggshells? I just saw some use of it as an abrasive media and thought somebody might have tried to clean brass.

Good advice. Ive also cleaned without using any media, with surprisingly good results.

I have never found separating media to be a big problem

It's not really a big problem if you have a crank-type separator, but it is extra work. Like everything, it's a trade-off and it depends on whether slightly cleaner brass is worth it to you.

Has anyone tried it with copper electric wire snipped into 7mm lengths yet?

I've been washing by hand and they come out clean enough. I just hate cleaning primer pockets. I have a small rock tumbler and it would do small batches of .45 ... I'm debating on snipping for an hour because it's free.

Yea yea yea...get a Frankford with SS. I will eventually, but money doesn't grow on trees and it gets spent on components! Budget shooter here!
