copper fouling! what do you do?

I use my Outers Foul Out 11 reverse electrolysis system

1) plug the chamber end of the barrel

2) insert stainless steel rod with correct rubber O-rings installed to keep the rod from touching the barrel

3) slowly fill with the copper remover solution

4) slip the Foul Out System onto the rod clip a wire to the chamber end of barrel/action

5) plug unit into wall socket let sit checking light periodically you may also periodically pull the rod out and wipe the build up of fouling off of it I also slide the O-rings to a slightly different position

6) when clean remove rod/solution run dry patches thru bore then a oiled patch

Must do the job. but sounds kinda tedious.

I picked up a can at P&d last week to try out. So far I'm getting lots of blue out of the old SVT-40 and 91/30 (hoping for shiny bores once the junk is out)
 
After trying sweets, wipeout, and all the other common solvents, KG-12 is by far the best. It's quick, not as harmful as some of the others, and removes ALL the copper fouling with very little effort. I keep a good supply on hand.

So another vote here for KG products.

I don't know where it is sold other than Grouse River Outfitters in BC.
 
T-17 foaming bore cleaner, says on the can to leave in for a hour for the first attempt then repeat as necessary, have never had to do a repeat application since using this product.
 
I would also add that using dyna bore coat in your rifle will greatly eliminate copper fowling. I coated my 308 tikka HB varmint and after shooting 60 rounds, after cure in/initial cleaning, I had exactly zero copper in my bore. M-pro 7 to clean carbon out (1 patch) and there was no copper in the bore.

Glad you had dbc work for you. I did my rifle twice and still coppers like crazy.
 
Wipeout, DBC, MPro7, and JB Bore Paste for the initial cleaning.

I have yet to hear anybody say that DBC had a negative impact on their firearm, but I've had plenty of positive feedback saying that it reduced the rate of fouling buildup significantly, and made cleaning easier and quicker. Statistically, I know of 3 people who tried DBC, and it had zero effect. This is out of the hundreds of people that I've seen try the coating. Proper bore prep is essential, and even then there is still the odd barrel that seems to be unaffected. I apologize if you are one of those people, but on the bright side, it would be a good time to buy a lottery ticket ;) :D
The unaffected bores seems to be those that are so rough that even the slick ceramic coating can't overcome the bore's tendency to pick up copper. They do still usually clean easier, though, even if the rate of fouling buildup is unchanged.
 
I'm happy with Wipeout for most all general bore cleaning chores and use CR-10 on
occasion for fast work on old rifles with heavy fouling. I love Dyna Bore Coat and
use it in all my rifles. Dang stuff works great!:D
