Copper plated lead shot????

I should know the answer to this question but for some reason I'm having a major brain fart
Copper plated lead shot is it considered non toxic

no only steel, bismuth and or non toxic shot are non toxic. copper or nickel plated is shot give better patterns though

Actually, there is very little plated "hard" lead shot available. Precision Reloading in the US has it made for them.
Most copper "plated" is just copper washed, and nickel plated shot, like that from Ballistic Products, is soft and will not give better patterns.

Steel, Bismuth and the various Tungsten alloys or Tungsten matrix shot are legal non-toxic shot.

Really good penetration with high velocity steel too...so good that birds keep flying for a bit...
