Copper plated shot?

Is copper plated shot sold in Canada -- so far in my search can only find straight lead? Who sells it?

Not that I would ever deal with Bilozir again, but I prefer nickel plated shot over copper plated shot.

Winchester has copper plated buckshot, but I dont know that ive seen smaller shot

I've seen copper plated shot sold at Bass Pro in Vaughan.

Most smaller shot is copper washed not true plated. The flight control wad turkey loads are common and they are copper washed/plated.

I don't think there is any actually plated shot out there, it's all washed as far as i know.
I've used nickle and copper plated shot for years, and rarely hunt upland birds without it, even in my vintage guns .

They sure did. I still have a bag of no. 6 somewhere. Early 90's was the last time I got some from them
All I have used in the 16ga and 28ga for upland has been copper plated for years now. I find it provides better patterns and works beter when the leaves are heavy.
Stuff I have lately is lawrence brand and only in 10 pound bags and like almost 40 bucks only in 4, 5 or 6 unless that has changed but true copper plated not washed. It came from Precision reloading before they stopped shipping shot to canada.
Have not seen any in canada but I don't live in an area that has much of anything as you know

What benefit does copper plated shot give?

I find that plated shot, especially nickel plated shot, penetrates better, and doesn't drag the feathers into the meat, like unplated lead shot does.

I find copper washed shot to pattern slightly better. I could never tell a difference in penetration on game between it and regular lead. But I do remember crunching ducks and geese at 50+ yards with old lead shot. Sometimes you would have 1/4" holes where not round lead pellets would rip in
