Barnes CR10 is the best commercial cleaner I have tried to date for removing copper. No, have not tried KG12. Doubt I will either as I am only using Janitorial grade ammonia cleaner.
Nothing can beat that!!!!!!
wipe it in, wipe out the copper. NO waiting, lots of stink, dirt cheap.
I did my own test with Butches, Sweets, Wipe Out, Hoppes 9, Barnes, JB. JB did very well because it just lapped the gunk out.
For a solution, Barnes was used after the other cleaners had come out with a few white patches. The Barnes not only removed much more copper (back to bear metal), it also removed more powder.
Look for any high conc ammonia cleaner if you want to get rid of copper quickly and effectively. The best will have a warning not to leave in the barrel for any more then a few minutes.
Heed their warning. Wipe it out or else corrosion is possible.
You do not leave jan grade ammonia in a bore for more then a few minutes (your barrel is clean long before that anyways). There is no point and can lead to other bad things.
