Copper slag

So at PA this afternoon and in their sandblasting area they bags of copper slag.

Anyone use this as a tumble medium?

Nice and cheap.

I can say it works great for blasting but Ive never used it for tumbling

I'd be wary of too much grit. I tried using glass blast media once and it didn't turn out too good.

Smelter slags are usually very high in glassy silicates and are crushed when being reclaimed. In other words, they are hard and sharp. I would expect them to be very hard on brass cases.
