Copper

Subject comes up once in a while.....maybe check for old threads. I tried it and found it would not work worth a damn for me, but others say they`ve had success. I actually sent mine to somebody on here, but never heard back or saw any test they did.

I bought some ...2 bottles. Tried it a couple of times. Didn't work at all. Useless. despite all the video hype of dissolving bullets.

ammonia seems to be the best to use, the janitorial stuff. im having this issue right now with my r700 as well, havent tried ammonia yet but everything else i have hasnt done crap for me. im going to visit a friend tonight and he said hes gonna get her clean so ill let you know what he does
 
Take a sniff on Barnes CR-10 and take a sniff on plain ammonia, not scientific but it's the same stuff. I use straight ammonia and it works just fine, a lot cheaper too.
 
Plug the bore, fill barrel with 28% or so ammonia, let it sit while you load a few, dump into sink, swab with Ed's Red, let it sit, run some patches thru and you're done.

This is the best we have come up with, incl. the foamies. Sweet's works the same as ammonia, but costs more. A $9 bottle of ammonia will last for many years. Janitors use it for windows. Also avail. @ Safeway. Mark
 
If you get the janitorial 26% ammonia, make sure you are in a WELL ventilated area.

It will literally take your breath away even using a dropper to apply it to patches. A respirator (not a dust mask) is recommended when transferring from 1gal jug to whatever smaller container you use at your cleaning station. Ask me how I know. :D

Ahh yes, I've had the pleasure of gassing myself as well. Different gas, made it myself, forgot about the epoxy, applied some heat, epoxy and a few other things at high temp...oops time to get outside NOW...
