Hey guys I am interested in hunting and i was wondering if anybody knows where i can register for a CORE course in vancouver,bc. I have my PAL for 4 years now. Anybody with info on a good course would be helpful thanks.

Silvercore.ca (the course is at their offices in Delta on River Rd)

They're a bit more pricey than a few of the other options but worth every penny in my opinion. As you already have your PAL you're looking at a weekend course from 9-30 until around 1:30 or 2 Sat and Sunday (as you will be able to skip the firearm section).

Check them out, I did both my PAL/RPAL as well as CORE courses with them and would recommend them to everyone.

Do your self a favor study for the exam and challange it. If you take the course you will learn to pass the exam if you self study you will learn the material. My 11 year old challanged it last spring and he spent 10 times the hours on the material then the course provides. With out studying he got a 70% on the practice exam on the real exam after studying for months and mastering the material he got 92% If the material is new to you there is no way you can learn 100% of it in a weekend. You can learn to pass the exam but you wont have mastered the CORE material.

If you get stumped in your self studying or do not understand something there is always CGN.

I'm not sure if it's the same in BC, but the Hunting course is mandatory in Ontario.
The Firearms course is optional here, so you can challenge the pal & rpal exams after your hunting course if you don't have them.

Regardless of mandatory course or not, it is great advice to study before your course.
The course is setup for everyone to pass, but like david doyle says, you'll absorb more if you read up on it beforehand.

$20 for the book and $10 for the exam.

Wow that is a bargain I shelled out more for the book from the BCWF and paid a 40 dollar exam fee (I thought it was fair though cause I got a free coffee and got to watch hunting TV for an hour)
