Hi all,

Like it says in the title, I'm curious about whether or not its worth it to take a 2-day course, or to simply take the test. As a university student on a budget, I'd like to save the money if possible!

The guy I took my CFSC course with described the CORE test as quite a bit more difficult, would it be worth it to take the course? Or just really get to know my CORE manual?

And if you really do think its worth it, would you recommend anyone in the Prince George area? It seems like there's 15-20 examiners in the area.

Thanks!

I would take it based on the fact that the instructor can probably teach and tell you a lot of helpful information that you wont find in the book. I know mine did and I found it well worth it.

A bit more information on your background and experience would give something better to go on.

Someone who comes from a hunting background but has simply never done the course/exam for their own hunter number will have different needs than someone who is totally new to hunting and comes from a non-hunting background.

The course provides lots of valuable information, but the test is not particularly difficult either.

Ultimately the decision is yours to make based upon your own knowledge and comfort level.

I had no background in hunting and even based upon the written course materials it is much harder than the PAL courses. And about a third of the knowledge comes from the instructor and their experience.
