Anyone here heard of the Cornell firearms company I have it stamped on the side of an old SXS, as far as I can tell they were out of London

Farls, Cornell is not a name I am familiar with as an English manufacturer and it was common to put the name "London" on a gun as it imparted an air of quality. Fortunately, most European guns have proof marks which will identify the country of origin and potentially some other data. These proof marks are located on the barrel flats and water table. It is usually necessary to remove the fore end, open the gun and take the barrels off the frame to see them.
If you do that, and post a description of what you see (or better yet a photo) then we can identify where the gun was made.

The only markings I can find are under the barrels and it is just an "s". There is also a "01"

Hmmn, no proof marks. That would indicate American manufacture. There was a D. Cornell in New York around the middle of the 19th century, and I found one internet reference regarding the use of the Cornell name on Hopkins & Allen guns which states:

Yes, it looks like a Hopkins & Allen gun, circa 1902 - 1916. An interesting find, you don't see a ton of them hanging around. The company was bought out by Marlin in 1917.

What would you consider something like this to be worth considering it had a rubber recoil pad which gave it the nice two tone look and it doesn't lock up really tight. The wood is good, the bores are shiny, and there is no rust just discoloring. Does it have any collector appeal?
Hopkins & Allen were known as manufacturers of economical handguns and shotguns. The Blue Book 28th edition lists them as being worth somewhere between $95 and $315 (60% to 100%). The guns are interesting, but not particularly valuable.
