Cornwall Ontario Area Nuts....

Not saying ct is the be all and end all.... But it's certainly nice to have an option you can browse on the weekend with a coffee...... And the local options have been pathetic...

yah, just outside of St-Andrews. so pretty close.
I usually do most of my shooting at home. we can do 200yards right here at my place in my back yard. if I had the equipment to work the old gravel pit here at my place, could probably do 300yards plus half way back on my property..... just need to get a better job for the equipment I guess.... LOL
I do most if not all my hunting at home anymore, just too easy to walk out the door or out the cabin here at home. getting too old to travel anymore...... LOL

Have land I apple hill off the 43...... Would love to shoot and hunt with you

let me know. we could do some shooting some day. I hunted some land a few years ago in apple hill just next to some scout land.
turkey season opens in a month but I work nights the night before opening day. we have turkey's here every year but they roost next door or two farm over so it takes them a while to come over. I get one or two if I want to keep getting up early......

CTC abandoned firearm sales en masse when C-68 went into force. They continued to sell the hunting easy stuff: ammo, clothing, accessories, and so on. However they couldn't be bothered with the registration requirements of C-68 so firearms were eliminated from their inventory to the detriment of their customers. Now they jump on the band wagon when sales of firearms are less onerous. I for one would never buy a firearm from CTC

not quite true. there were the very odd CT that still sold firearms. I remember going hunting in Berries Bay when I was in College 14 years ago and the CT there had firearms at the back but I think ( I could be wrong) that they had someone else running the counter/firearms dept. it was a long time ago but after C-68 and most CT weren't selling firearms. Bellville was back into it while the registry was still active as well.
I for one am glad they're getting back into selling firearms just for more options.

All the CT stores around here got out of selling firearms, and very few even today sell ammo. I remember when the registry was coming in that the Orillia store advertized that it was selling off its guns at cost.

Not so. Check the dates. Belleville only got back in the game after the cancellation of the registry.

Sudbury CT's never stopped selling firearms...

They just don't carry good firearms... mostly low-end and plastic crap... the only firearm I have bought from CT is a Henry H001Y .22 LR for my daughter, on sale for $229 and paid with CT money... that felt good. I also bought four "5000 round" buckets of Mini-Mags when they had them.

Brad, I hope your store has a knowledgeable manager who can bring in some decent guns... maybe you can coach him.

probably only cheaper stuff like the kemptville store i would assume.
Thanks for your input about the Sudbury store never stopping. I hate when someone basically tells me i don't know what I'm talking about when I know i'm right......

Not "Store"... but "Stores"... all four kept selling firearms right through the lean years... there is a good grassroots base of Outdoorsmen here, and with the demand the stores kept up the supply.

I will do my best, but if they are anything like the usual Canadian Tire stores, they will have racks full of axis, SKS etc.... I do realize that is what seems to sell today and I think having firearms in a mainstream department store is a great thing.... I would like to support them, and will see if they can at least have a small selection of some better stuff.....

The boys are bugging me for new .22's, so if they carry 10/22 or Henry I will likely kick them up there if they have them.... But I don't see clay losing much if my money any time soon....
