Coronavirus and its effect on food supplies.

your numbers say:
influenza 1 death in 1000
corona 33 in 1000

Careful with numbers....we have decades of experience tracking flu infection rates, so we can be more certain with the mortality rate of the flu. With corona, it is likely that 10X more people have it already than are "confirmed" to have it....so, it might be only 3x more deadly. These kind of numbers won't be possible to calculate until a "post mortem" of the outbreak happens...

Make sure to do your own research and not give in to the hysteria drivel. It's not nearly as bad of a virus as the media would have you believe. These precautions are essentially to prevent it becoming a pandemic (most people all sick at the same time) that could damage the economy. Most of us will get covid 19, it's just a matter of when. It will likely join the rest of the seasonal bugs for the foreseeable future.

The economy was ####ed way before this virus came along, this is the perfect scapegoat :). Also people panic buying is actually helping drive up profits so its good to panic :)

Think about how many people are not working, and not making any money right now.

Now think about the domino effect that it's going to have on the economy over the next six months.

This is a good time to live in the country. A lot of the city folk have no idea how to live in uncertain times, so they panic. In the country you can kick back relax, have a drink and let the troubles just melt away. Living out here is social distancing. Lol

You can make you own hand sanitizer with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol (works best, but you can use 70%), and Hydrogen Peroxide. As always proper hand washing is best

Apparently 70% is more effective then 90%, the lower concentration allows the alcohol to penetrate the cell membrane and kill it entirely, when the higher concentration just fries they outside of the cell leaving everything inside untouched. Apparently thats why they don't really stock it as much anymore, as well as people using it to make weed concentrates.

Truth. Grain bins and potato storages around here have plenty of edibles left in them. We export a lot more food than we import. I also happen to work in a food processing plant and have plenty of meat and veggies in the freezer...I think we're good! Even in China, the supply chain didn't shut down. Soon enough, we'll only be able to buy perishable foods because the unprepped panickers will buy out all the canned and dry goods. Always have an extra sack of flour and rice, even w/o viruses going around.

Yep. I'll meet ya out back behind the Westeel Rosco
