I have seen lots of threads on cleaning after corrosive ammo is used, but I have never seen this asked.
I will be shooting some surplus ammo in my Yugo M-48BO this year and am wondering if shooting a couple rounds of commercial non-corrosive ammo at the end of the day will help with cleaning out the bore and removing the salts?
A second question is how much cleaning of the action and bolt are needed after a session with the surplus ammo? A gas operated semi I can see needing at least a field strip, but how about a Mauser bolt action? I plan to pull the bolt every time to clean the residue out as well as wiping down the mag follower and trigger where it catches the striker on the bolt. Should I be pulling the action out of the stock as well every time, or every second time to clean out the trigger group completely?
Thanks,
Mark
