I came across the 4 pack of 1911 magazines and the pricing looks really good at $70 for 4.

Before I pick them up does anyone who owns them have some insight on the reliability and durability?

Hoping they are decent as it seems like a cheap way to get a good number of magazines but I don't want to be frustrated and regret the purchase.

Thanks,
Steve

I don't have the 1911 ones but I have bought the p226, 92fs and 96fs mags from corwin. They are all made in Italy so I would imagine he gets them from a the same manufacturer but I couldn't say for sure. I can say for sure that all the mags I have bought from there have been great quality without issue. Corwin is also great To deal with. I had heard from another post on here that the mags corwin sells are unbranded mec-gar mags.

Hope that helps,

Ben

I bought a few 92FS mags and they don't work for my Taurus clone, maybe they were 92S, not sure but they're great quality and everyone seems pretty happy, good indicator right there.

I'd have no problem ordering them from Corwin, I'd be pretty confident that they will work well, and on the remote chance that they don't I'm sure Martin will do whatever it takes to make it right.

+1! I've ordered 8 1911 mags, no issues with any of them. They look the exact same as the ones that came from the factory with my Remington R1 Enhanced Threaded Barrel minus the R1 impression in the bottom plate.

As long as the Beretta mags you ordered have the mag release instead of the heel catch they can be modified for the Taurus 92 or 99. They are apparently exactly the same but you need to elongate the cutout for the Taurus mag release. I have 4 in the mail right now I plan on using for my Taurus. There are plenty of videos online

I ordered the 4 pack 8 rd 1911 .45 acp mag.

I found that the spring is maybe too long, when I load eight rds, the spring got kind of jam up together in the mag, although it still work. I only found out about the spring because I took the mag apart to clean and inspect them. The spring consist of two section, one section is kind of wider than the other, so the smaller section of the spring got jam into the wider section.
Loading 7 rd seem to solve the problem.
This is just what happen to the 4 mag that I got.

I bought some Taurus magazines from Corwin while they still had them. Work flawlessly in my Taurus. The Beretta magazines have a different retention notch, so will not work in a Taurus. The Corwin Beretta magazines work perfectly in my Beretta, very happy with them and the price. I would think that the 1911 magazines would also work well in that firearm.

The 226 mags I bought from Corwin do not lock the slide open when empty. The followers are different than factory sig mags. Hope the 1911 mags work better.

I wish Corwin had more Taurus mags. I emailed them a while back and they said they wouldn't be getting more. They had to order 1000 at a time which would be a few years supply. I ordered a 4 pack of the Berretta mags. They are decent enough quality and I modified them to work in my Taurus. With the exception of 1 mag not locking in properly they seem to work fine. Be careful if you do modify and not take too much off. My 4 pack I can only use 3

I bought 7 rounders they had a few years ago, marked "colt 45" on the bottom, complete garbage.
The new ones look like ACT, which are fairly decent.
