Cosmetic Care for SKS

Once I cleaned the cosmo out of my SKS stock it looked really bad, so I hand sanded the heck out of it, stained it with gunstock coloured stain, buffed it with 000 steel wool, and stained it again. Then I just polished it with old english wood polish. It looks awesome. I don't have a picture right now, but I'll put one up soon enough.
It was really hard to sand off all the old laquer though. I opted not to put laquer back on.

Throw up some pics when you get the chance, I'd like to see it.

Here's mine, there are earlier posts about how I did the stock.

I made the stock of my '54 Tula look like glass by liberal applications of BirchWood Casey gunstock wax. No need to strip or sand, just clean the Cosmo off first, Simple Green works great for that.
