Cost of .22LR ammo in your neck of the woods?

Hi Guys
Not sure if this should be in the "ammo" forum, but...

I just received my GSG 1911, wow a lot of fun. Went through 1200 rounds the first weekend, could have shot double that but it was all I had on hand. I went out shopping yesterday for more ammo. In Yellowknife where I live there are two options, WalMart and CdnTire... Cost was... a bit higher then I remember buying rimfire for before.

Winchester "Target" was $25/500
Federal Copper plated stuff was $31/525
Blazer was $31/500

Does that seem normal? I seem to recall the value packs of 525 being like $18. Am I crazy? At the rate I intend to burn up ammo in this gun this is going to be more expensive then I thought. Good thing it isn't in 9mm or .40...

Still though, best way to get familiar with pistol sports right? Buy one and shoot so much you are knee deep and wading through brass...

My question: What's the cheapest .22LR ammo you can get in your area?

At Walmart in Ontario, you can get Winchester 555 packs for about $18.95 & 333 packs for $13.95 when they have stock. They don't usually last long. Great ammo for the price from my experience.
 
Last I checked it was somewhere in the 25$ range for a brick at Wally World. I have around 800 rds left at this point which is more than enough for what I do with it.

AWOL; odd to see the boxes of USSR junior shells. I have a couple hundred as well. Not been on the market for a while. I worry if I get below 2000 rds, hasn't happened in years. Haveing 2 son use to play heck on supply.
 
Anytime i have less than 3 bricks on hand i am worried

Hard to find any 500 bulk packs for less than 30 around here - been buying the 525 cci blazers for 29.99 at ctc - best cheap ammo deal around

federal bulk pack, is like 28$ i buy it all when ever i see it , its my fav .22 runs like a swiss watch in all my .22s even 597 vtr , 226, both of which are supposed to be finicky.

Somebody else thinks so too because I was into one store last week and the clerk told me a customer came in and bought all they had; over a thousand worth!

I bought the 500 rnd. packs at the Cambodian Tyre in South Edmonton last year for @$19.
Nowadays it seems to be around $30!!! WTF??!!
As well, I would like to confess a sin; I am currently out of .22.(give me strength!!)

Yup, them Rusky rounds have been in my inventory for quite a while. The are wax coated for waterproofing but they gum up the action so I don't use them. I just can't stomach throwing them away.
