cost of a round of clays ?

$5 per round at my local club for trap or skeet, sporting clays is $500 per 1000 targets for members. A range membership where I shoot trap/skeet is $130, but includes our rifle/handgun/archery ranges. Guests pay a $5 shooting fee, no drop ins allowed.

$7.00 for skeet. I think about $425 per thousand for sporting clays and five stand. Membership - something like $300 - cart rental ??maybe $40 - (not sure - I don't use one.) - ammo about $6.50 a box for practice fodder - $12 for the good stuff - gas to and from - don't forget accessories (shooting vest - tinted glasses - hearing pro....) Oh ya - you might want to buy a gun too. :)

Then there's the bet you lost (on purpose) while out shooting with your boss.....

I would be remiss not to mention the brownie points spent every time you say "Honey - I'm headed to the range for a few minutes...

Now many of those apply to any clay sport - but yes, Sporting Clays is WAY more expensive (and WAY more fun)

Rob!

I belong to 3 clubs in SW Ontario and member rates at two of the clubs is $4 and $4.50 at the other for trap and skeet. One of the clubs just started throwing sporting targets and is charging $35 per 100. Another is charging $5 for 5 stand, which opened up last year.

I would agree to some extent however probably 3/4 of the sporting clays courses I have shot had manual machines and you could buy a dozen or more manuals for the cost of one automatic trap machine capable of throwing regulation ATA singles and doubles targets.

I’ll have to try to make it over this summer and give that new course a try. Sounds pretty amazing and affordable!

Seems it ranges between 50 and 30 bucks around here. There is a large expense, starting a decent sporting clay course, and requires a group of dedicated members to keep it running. Still my favorite clay game. Sporting clay stole me away from trap 20 years ago. I haven't looked back

Sydenham Sportsmen,
40 bucks for a ten round shoot card. Trap or skeet and 5 dollars per round for guest and non members.
Sporting Clays 35 for 100 targets or 45 if there is prizes, all targets presentations from automatics (promatic).
Do not tell anyone.
