Cost per part W/# 1943/1944/M1

Gentlemen,
This file gives us a complete breakdown of the Drawing number and the cost per part of each part on the M1 Garand Rifle per 1943/1944. The file was done by Ordnance to show what the forecast only ending in the Fiscal/Year ending on 30 June 1944. There is another page of this data showing the rest of the M1 Garand breakdown but it also has the breakdown for the Model 1903A1. The two files are to big to post together and if you wish to see the other page just let me know. I don't like to bother you with junk like this but I thought it might be of interest to some of you.

Warning, before you go to my sites lower your volume as the opening page contains a sound file which has a loading and firing of the M1 Garand. So if you're at work or home it may be wise to check your volume control.

The fireing pin is the single most expensive item listed!!!

Actually the most expensive item on the list is the operating arm screw.
Followed by the aperture, followed by the follower arm, then the bullet guide, then the firing pin.

26$ for an M1. If the US Government were to sell the rifles they have left right now for 50$ they'd still make a huge profit.

The Operating rod spring is the most expensive per peice as they cost 26 cents each.
