Hi,

With our recent trailer load of targets from Lawrys we’ve increased our cost to $7.50 for round of 25 targets for club members here on south shore of N.S. ( skeet, trap and sporting ) Few unhappy with the increase that we have no control over other than you pay to play.

Interested what other clubs across the country are charging? I’ll use for discussion at our next General Meeting.

Thanks

Trap, Skeet, 5-Stand (per round – 25 targets) $6.27 + $0.82 HST = $7.09
Sporting Clays (per round – 110 targets) $34.70 + $4.51 HST = $39.21

The bigger price is the shells not too long ago 65-75flats now 105-140 a flat

Our Club went to $7.50 for a round of 25 in 2022. Trap, Skeet and 5-stand.
We use a card system. Buy a card with 250 or 500 targets then plug and play during regular range hours.

Heard that Olin Corp bought White Flyer and the first thing they did was raise target prices!
Up 13% on the last quote.

We just received an order of White Flyer targets that should do us about three seasons. Prices were within a few cents per case of Lawry's and White Flyers are delivered to our club grounds on an air ride trailer whereas the Lawry's would arrive by rail and we'd have to pick them up and take them to the club ourselves so WF was the choice for this order. I believe we will be $7.50/rd this year.

We are currently at $6 / round for members, we just took delivery of a load of white flyer targets, our last load was in Oct 2021 and our delivered cost was $17.95 / case the new cost delivered in Jan this year was $27.72 / case an increase of 7 cents per target, in order to recover the cost of targets alone we will have to raise the rate by $1.75 / round to $7.75 / round and that doesn't take into consideration the increase in power, insurance, maintenance. We could have bought Lawry for about $1 per case cheaper but would have had to take a full 20' container delivered to the rail head here then move them ourselves to the club, cost prohibitive.

And so it is like everything else in the past 3 years, record inflation and it will make for a tough shooting year, last year was bad enough as the number of targets thrown was down 30%

We use White Flyers ourself, Tom brings them to our range, and runs the loaded pallets into our shed with a powered pallet jack, so quick and easy. We use around 5 pallets per year, so we are good for the next couple of years. We look at the cost of targets, and projected maintenance on machines, and set our prices accordingly. Some years we get by with a few hundred dollars in machine maintenance, but replacing a motor adds $1000+ in short order.

Small club approx 45 km SE of Montreal:

Increased from $ 7.00 to $ 8.00 last summer per 25 targets of skeet, trap or five stand.........No sporting clays at this small club.....It is 60 km from my home here in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

I live pretty close to the Vermont border. Approx 85 km from my home there is a Vermont Club with a very good 14 station sporting clays layout. Last summer it was $ 33.00 USD ( say $ 44.00 CDN ) for club members to shoot 100 sporting clays targets on mid week practice Tuesdays. Three Vermont clubs within a day trip for me hold registered NSCA sporting clay events during summer months. The registered shoots are of course more expensive.

We are still on last year's order, so it's still $7.00 . I helped load the sea-can last year.

Calling this record inflation , obviously you weren't around for the '70s. But this does hurt when you are on a fixed pension.

In 2023 Members paid $9.50, and Guests paid $11.50 for 25 targets for Trap.
Trap Doubles would be x2 of that.
Guests, on top of a higher price, also pay a $30 guest fee.

An individual adult membership was $230.
GST applies to all amounts.

And, instead of just saying over here, this is at the Edmonton Gun Club.

This sounds like a for profit business, rather than a non profit club like most.
