Cost per round ?

When someone complains, we offer them a volunteer position, and the complaints stop.

That's the ticket!! Had a member come up to me(board member that had spent time clearing/salting) after a snow storm, complaining about the snow clearing. My reply was "yes of course we have a solution and I'm happy to show you"..... we walked over to the shovels and I passed him one.....not another word and he didn't shovel.

We live close to Lawreys so we are lucky. We are charging our members $6.00 and breaking even on targets

We could charge $6, and break even on targets, but that would leave us nothing extra to pay for maintenance and repairs of machines. We have replaced a couple of motors in the past few years, and it isn't cheap, even with me doing the work.

Correct, break even does nothing for a club, if you really break all of your costs down to the penny $7.50 per round is barely break even, much less have money in the bank to replace you targets in a couple years time when current inventory runs out, shooting sports are taking it on the chin, ammunition has doubled in price and inflation is at record levels and disposable income for most people is nil.

Our cost for a 5-stand set up with different types of targets, allowing for some waste which always occurs in 5-stand, will be $7.60 for 25 targets. This assumes a 13% increase in target cost resulting form the Olin purchase of White Flyer. We will be charging $9.50 for a round of 25 targets this year.

Since April of 2022, this years cost of regular 108mm clays has gone up 48% and rabbit targets up 54%. Wasn't all that long ago, we were charging $4.00 per round.

Just got an email from the ecxs at Hamilton that because of a price increase from White flyer , there is an immediate increase to $8/ round for members. In the email it stated that there getting some sample clays from Italy and Spain and even with shipping over the Atlantic there cheaper than white flyers?

Some of the local clubs tried them this past year. They are from Spain, Corsivia was the brand. Never heard any complaints, I remember someone noting they were physically heaviers than the White Flyers they were using before. https:// corsivia.com/en/products/corsivia-innova/

Being in eastern Canada , you have more options, being out west, we would have to pay the extra shipping to get them here, which would likely eat up any savings.
