I have a line on a Ruger red label with cut down barrels due to a split in the choke of one barrel. The gunsmith doing the work is quoting $200+ per barrel with no tubes (just boring and threading). I've been looking at the Carlson site and they quote $140 and they throw in 3 choke tubes and two wrenches for O/Us.

Is there anywhere in Canada that does similar work like Carlson, I don't want to ship out of the country.

Thanks,

Gary

Thats a good deal!!!! 3 tubes would be $75-$95:eek:

I would think $100-$150 would get it done in Canada. Most any gunsmith can do it. I had Epps do an 1100 for me and they did a good job.

Keep in mind those are american prices, where hundreds of places do this, and your model 1100 is only one barrel.

Precision Arms in King City, ON, quoted me $159 per barrel to do the work and $89 per choke. These are thin walled chokes, I believe titanium, and thats all they use. So for the ruger you're looking at about $600 plus tax with 3 chokes.

You're probaly better off just buying a new ruger for $1400 and they come with 5 chokes.
