cost to reload 308 vs 223?

How much does it cost per round to reload 308?
costs me approx 25 cent a pop excluding brass on 223 with hornady bulkbullets.
Wondering if I should get a 223 or 308 target tactical rifle. (like the savage 10 fcp-k)

A comparison of some typicall sierra bullets such as the 223 SMK 69 gr is around $0.31 per bullet and the 308 SMK 168 gr is around $0.47 per bullet. You use slightly less than twice as much powder in a 308 for those loads. So maybe around $0.75 and up for the components to reload a 308 with a match bullet, $0.45 and up for the 223. At least that's with the components I use.

Edit: I am tailoring this to the assumption you want to shoot accurately from this target rifle.

With a basic bullet and brass on hand/range brass I can get

308 - $0.49 each
223 - $0.25 each

Rough numbers only (and probably a tad on the high side but still works for comparison).

Primer:
308 - $.05
223 - $.05

Powder:
308 - $.20
223 - $.10

Bullet:
308 - $.30
223 - $.20

Cast bullet (free lead, cost of gas check only):
308 - $.03
223 - $.03

308 fires cast bullets much better than 223 does though. Larger diameter seems to be required for optimum cast bullet performance.

Oh god just had a surprise with taxes for the year, I think I'll shot .22 quite a bit this year.
