SASKATOON — A pair of cougars have been spotted in the town of Shellbrook, a town 130 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
Tuesday afternoon, an off-duty RCMP member reported seeing two cougars in his neighbours' yard, according to Shellbrook RCMP. When he went outside his home to track the animals, he found they had fled.
RCMP notified Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management, as well as the local elementary and high schools, to be aware of the cougars' presence. All students were kept inside until it was clear the cougars had left the town.
No further sightings have been reported, according to Shellbrook RCMP.
