Someone’s gonna correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think that current standard dewats are allowed to “click” , have to be a solid weld up.

Hopefully I’m mistaken, but someone will chime in.

I believe that is just the new standard. So I'd you got one deactivated today it would need to be solid welded but if you bought one deactivated from the old standard it should be fine. So a #### and click if a go, if it was done when that standard was legal.

Some one said one time that he took the firing pin/ striker out of a handguns , so it was " deactivated" sure maybe for a training course, but legal wise its' still a registered hand gun.
These days all revolvers are welded shut, and cylinder welded, so I don't know what the point would be, you can't pull the hammer or pull the trigger, or rack the slide on a semi auto.
Fast draw, you can do that with a old school cap gun or crossman BB gun , Price out a Good Dewat, you will see what I mean.
Antique, sure that will works, if you want to spend 2 or 3 grand. Check out the Switzer auction listing coming up in a few days.

PS , if you buy a " deactivated gun" from a store or dealer, it should come with the paperwork from the RCMP, or at least a receipt stating what it is and status , otherwise it still may be in the system as a " real firearm"
