Could it shoot 1" at 200 yrds?????

With a little load work up do you feel this gun could shoot 1" groups at 200 yards.
Give me any thoughts you might have good or bad any experience with this firearm,I am looking in 243.
Similar firearm in Remington or Benelli.

Question #1 if it was 2" at 200 making it 1Moa it would not be accurate enough for its intended use.

Question #2 like every one on this forum I shoot 20 shot groups at 800 metres through the same hole with a 22 lr off hand in heavy rain with a 50 mile cross wind,blind folded and hung over.
 
The semis in modern hunting arms today are not the semis of WW2...So I doubt the accuracy in a semi myth that keeps floating around.

True Calum, but the only semis I have seen capable of repeatable sub moa accuracy are heavily worked over AR's. I know of no hunting rifles that fit that category. On the other hand, I know of no big game rifles that realistically need sub moa accuracy either, so the point is probably moot. - dan
 
at 100, you may be able to get a 1 inch group with the right loads, a LOT of concentration and maybe a lot of LUCK- there's so many variables on going from a 1.5 inch group to a 1 inch at 100, you can't begin to guess as to which one you did right- however, when you get it out to 200, the errors seem to compound themselves- and out of a FACTORY gun , using FACTORY ammo, it's just plain dumb luck that you happened to find an ammo/rifle combination that groups that tight - and dumb luck DOES happen once in a while
 
I've thought about getting one of these rifles in either 22-250 or 243 for a while, I figure that they would be one of the more capable hunting semi-autos on the market and would make an excellent predator hunting/calling rifles.

I also would have wanted 2" or less groups at 200 yards.

I ended up sticking with my Ruger bolt 22-250 and then bought a Sako Gray Wolf in 22-250 instead.

It might be able to do it if you had the action beded, barrel floated, have the trigger accurized and and adjusted to a 2 1/2 lb. pull and put a custom barrel on it. All depends on how much money you want to sink into the rig after you buy it. But straight from the factory, highly doubt it. And sinking more money into a rig after buying, I think there are better options available for that kind of change.

It's a semi auto with a two piece stock,and non adjustable trigger,so the standard accurizing techniques used on bolt actions are not so easily done.
