Couldn't find this info in the sticky's (M14)

Maybe their web site is not current then, because last time I checked (four minutes ago) the Modern Hunter was $3500 complete.
Even $3500 is a rip off, but welcome to Canada friend.
$3500 is just code for "Unrestricted Semi Auto" in Canada.

Having said that, you can hit $5K on a good M14 for fun!
Throw any pimped out LRB into a J Allen stock and throw a decent scope on it ===== BANG $7,000 all day long. I have one and can post pics.

There was one posted here a few weeks ago and the guy had over $8,000 into his LRB. I think I'm just a better shopper. Ok cheap... I said it, let's move on ok.

As for the Modern Hunter being a silly gun...
No argument, but silly or not I'll bet a hundred bucks it'll outshoot most pimped out M14s.

Dude no offense but there's NO WAY you'll spend five or six grand on an M1A. Like ever.

Even a top notch LRB would run you 3600 or so. I guess if you ordered it with a jae or sage stock then you're close, but then it's just being a bit gratuitous.

The modern hunter is a cool platform, but in all honesty, it's quite a silly gun. Over five grand for a new manufacture gun? I'd rather buy an M1A, a sg542, and still have sooner cash for bullets and powder....

I disagree.

A "top shelf" LRB is $3600+ USD. Add 35% exchange and import fees.....

I recently ordered up the last of the parts needed for a Nork build. The only Nork part is the action. I add up the parts, shipping, exchange and importation fees..... I'm just a hair shy of $5000, FOR PARTS!

Heaven forbid I add in gun smithing fees..... Although If I add up the tooling and gauges, that number would be north of $7K.

But anything "at the tippity top of the A-list" is going to cost!

My $.02

Hmm, I have a couple tuned up m14 rigs I'd shoot side by side with a modern hunter any day of the week. I don( think the modern hunter is silly. The price is totally silly to me for what it is, but what it is allows the manufacturer to charge whatever they want.... Because it's a nonrestricted AR-ish rifle right? And that said, the "only" reason I would buy one is because I could get it in .338federal. But then again for the price of a modern hunter, I could build a pimpin .338fed bolt gun rig LOL I certainly have no need for any more .308's

Here's a car analogy as my answer.

fixed it... the M305 is the cheep knock off you have to spend a fortune on to get it up to snuff. Originally built in America then sold off to the chinese. Inferior parts, bad fit up, might have rotten engine...
