Counterfeit EOTech and Aimpoint sights

The knock off eotechs/aimpoints aren't bad for regular plinking purposes. You just have to be careful of what kind of person you're buying from. Airsoft is very popular in Hong Kong and thats what these are made for. Most work but at the same time some people will get defective or broken ones and try to sell them off online to a sucker. I suggest going to more legitimate sources even if you're buying a knockoff. Places like DealExtreme carries them for a fair price. Thats where i got a knock off aimpoint for paintball a year ago.

now i've never personally tried any of the eotech knockoffs, but i have tried enough of the red dots to know that none of them can ever really go wrong so long as you buy new so the aimpoint ones should be good.

One of the unintended consequences of outsourcing to countries like China can be that you wind up being in competition with yourself. "Chinese factories have many doors" and there are indeed many instances where products manufactured under license in the PRC wind up mysteriously competing with their Chinese clone which can sometimes be virtually identical in every way but the logo or high price.

NO ! I don't know if this pertains to Aimpoint or EOTech but it does apply to the products of other companies and for those companies I have little sympathy.

From what I'm reading here, I expect that the cheap Aimpoint/EOTech knock offs are just that but when the yellow RCBS "Lockchuckers" start showing up for 50 bucks each my bet is that dollar for dollar they'll be far better value than the green ones.

There is one "counterfeit" that's legit. It's the original Bushnell Holosight, these can often be had used for under $150, and are built by EOTech, just with some plastic where there's metal on the EOTech.

I ran one on my CZ858 for quite a long time, and would recommend it to anyone. Just stock up on N cell batteries when you find them.

When did EOTech change their logo? I see a few 5xx series on EE but the logo on the side looks like a box with four waves expanding from the bottom left . . . But most newer ones and the ones for sale from site sponsors have a circle with a "L3" in it . . . Should this be a concern to a buyer?

Great catch, heads up that on amazon.ca there is an “Eotech” being sold for $188.00 as a “collectible” from some person in China. I messaged her to confirm my suspicions and yeah it’s def not legit.
