Got up on Nov. 11th morning to pouring rain!......what the hey I'm going hunting anyway!! So off I go, I get to where I thought might be a good place to start hiking, wait for first light, get my rain gear on, and off i go through the bush! after about a 200m walk I stop, lesson.....glass ahead!.....snap! what was that?.....Squirrel!...dang it!...walk some more, stop, lesson....glass ahead!......snap...snap! what was that?.....just the water dripping! dang it again!......so I walk some more........stop lesson, glass ahead again!........snap again, look behind me, snap...snap! look through the brush with the binos....ah! a Deer, cool!!!.......keep looking........DANG IT!!!.....ITS A WHITETAIL!!!.....get the gun up wait for a clear shot and BOOM!!....He's not the biggest one out there, but for my area he's a pretty good one!!....also he's my first Whitetail buck ever, so I'm pretty darn happy! Thanks for reading and looking!

Proud hunter!
Then there was my Mule Deer!!!
Picture it......November 26th.......the wife had to work, and the oldest daughter agreed to stay home and watch the youngest! So at day break I hit the bush, same place I got my WT, only cut 2 tracks, Does!! so by noon I call it done! I head down the highway to another place I know holds a few bucks!....pack on....off I go!!...about 300m in I see a Doe!....just as I bring the binos down I see the Buck!.....DAMN IT!!!...off they go!....I give them some time and then follow!...glassing ahead as I go!....But each time I find them It's to late and their off!......We play "Cat and Mouse" for the next 2hrs or so, the last time I see them they are heading down a steep hill side, at this point its getting late and I'm roughly about 1km or more from the truck, so I chalk it up as a loss!!!......I finally say "YOU WIN I"M OUTA HERE!!".....50yrds later something tells me to look over my left shoulder!....Deer!.....pull up the binos!....Its him!....For some reason they decided to turn back up the hill!!......pull up the gun!......Squeeeezzze!.......Snap!.....eject shell put in mouth to save brass!......DUMB ASS SPIT OUT SHELL TO SAVE HEAD!!....load new shell!.....Squeeeeezzzzze!.....BOOOM....FLOP! in I go to see him! Now when I first saw him I knew he had a pretty good rack, but he didn't look much bigger then the Doe!......Boy was I wrong! he was a tank....his neck was as round as my steering wheel and deep through the shoulder!! I started packing him out but ran out of day light, I had to finish the haul the next day!! Well here he is! My biggest Mulie to date!........ Thanks for reading and looking!!
As he lay!!
Happy hunter...again!
