I just bought a new ruger 10/22 today. I would like to sell the factory walnut stock(has the band clamp at the front), How much would a reasonable (not giving it away) price to ask where a guy wouldn`t sit on it for months?????( this is brand new, hasn`t seen the outside world yet)
My second question is: I was looking at the Boyds evolution stocks. They list them for $99us, is there anyone up here that can get them for close to that price? I asked the gunstore where I purchased my gun, they laughed and said it was a very long wait and they had boyds stocks in (not the evolution) for $200.....roflmao I almost died at that price. What is the wait time????? At $99us, what would a guy expect to pay after taxes/exchange/duty???? Thanks,Darcy

The shipping and duty will pretty much put you up in the $200 mark I imagine. Canadian retailers charge more because they remove the BS involved with the border. Tough world out there :D

For the stock, I have no idea.. I have seen them go for $20-50 in the classifieds. However, I'm not sure how long they have been sitting there for those prices so im useless here..

I might be interested in getting one at some point just to mess around at the wood shop and maybe come up with a nice design.

They ship by usps and have a shipping calculator right on their site. It's around $40 for shipping. If you're charged tax and handling fees by Canada post, it's about $190 total. Might get it a bit faster from Boyd's so for maybe $10 more it's a no brainer to me.

If it is a standard OEM stock, then it is walnut "finished" pallet wood, NOT actual walnut wood... If you sell it as a "walnut" stock (as in a DSP), the buyer is gonna be PISSED! The pallet wood stocks sell for $30 or $40... An actual DSP walnut stock will sell for $100 or a little more... As I told you in the PM's... Boyd's stocks are going to be $99 + $40-45 shipping... Two thirds of the stocks they have shipped me have been delivered with NO tax or customs fees... The others have had $25-30 of additional fees... Depends on who is doing the border processing... You can count on $170 as a maximum... And $145 as a minimum.

The stock of a 10-22 basic is birch, it would sell or 20-30.00, might as well keep it and if you want to resell it, you can put it back on, why in the world didnt you get a SR-22, those are shooter out of the box and nothing need to be added... JP.

Cause at the time I really didn`t want a 10/22 and didn`t want to spend anymore than the basic amount. I love to tinker and tear stuff apart, after watching videos on the 10/22 mods...I had to buy one just to do the mods. Do I use it? Heck no, it stays in the closet and I take my old Lakefield Mark ii whenever I go out.
