couple questions regarding a norinco hp9 and +1 mag extension

So ive got a norinco hp9 (14" barrel) and I want to add a +1 mag extension to it.

Any suggestions on my best option and from where?

Also, once the mag extension is on, im assuming itll basically make the mag the same length as the barrel, correct?
 
You probably already know this, but you'll have to remove the magazine spring retainer detents from the interior of the magazine tube.
You can do this with a reamer.
Once you've mounted the +1 extension you may have issues with the magazine extension loosening under recoil (because the ordinary means of magazine tube cap retention are not present). Some people use medium strength threadlocker; I suggest a magazine band such as the Clark model, item # 181-380-001 at Brownells.

This is a Wilson +1 extension on my HP9-1. Works great.

Also, what kind of sight is that?

The bead on my hp9 lasted one trap session (couldnt help myself from trying the gun. haha).

Im looking to get something different onto it now.
 
Arwen Ace (username on this board) can hook you up with sites and mag extensions. Excellent guy and prices. Dlask Arms in BC are also great.

I got it either from Wolverine, TSE or PD Ent. My memory is going on me!

The sight is a Wilson (Trac-Loc) as well.
 
Just added the WC +1 ext to my HP9, went on like a charm once indents were taken out.
Was gonna buy WC trac-loc II ghost rings as well, but P&D don't currently have em in stock. Might take a look elsewhere.
Also installed a 6 shell sidesaddle, only to realize that I'm gonna either have to return it for a 4 shell or, get a new, smaller forend. I'm leaning towards new forend right now.

Thats an option I considered, if only temporarily. Im' lookin to get something more like yours. As is, I can't even chamber or extract a round.
 
I still haven't been able to find these anywhere.

I picked up an 870 express magnum this week with a 28" barrel for trap and want to pickup one for it also.

Any ideas on dealers or sites stocking these right now?
 
Did you try contacting any of names already provided? I bought mine a couple of years ago from Wolverine Supplies, I also had a gunshop order another one for me through Brownell's. Your best bet is to contact ARWEN ACE, he stocks them on a regular basis and I understand he has a great price on the ghost ring sights, if you want those. He will also build you a custom mag extension himself, to whatever length you desire.
