Course Instructor Requirements

Hey everyone
So I have been thinking about possibly becoming a CFSC instructor, i just had a question i thought some of you might be able to clear up. The requirements state that you must have had a PAL for at least 5 years and that you require an rpal as well. So I have had my non restricted PAL for about 8 years and am taking the course to upgrade to get the restricted designation. When I upgrade to my restricted am I starting from the beginning and having to wait 5 years before being eligible or is it sufficient to just upgrade my existing pal?

It might be best to contact the CFO. Then if you qualify you can start the paperwork and take your instructor course.

It is my understanding the "5 Years" applies to both. But you never know if individual circumstance & experience may have an impact. Best to contact your local authority (FSESO in Ontario) and get it straight from the best source. It never hurts to ask!

go to FSESO Ontario website it has instructor requirements and you should just give them a call
