Probably a very dumb question, but I've got no experience converting cartridge brass. Can I run 8mm Rem Mag brass through a .375 H&H full-length resizing die and get right-dimensioned .375 brass?

I dont think it would work due to the sloping case for the H&H. Besides, 375 brass is fairly common, unlike 8mm Rem Mag

You know, it would probably work easier going the other way. You'd just have to fireform.

If you do try to go from 8mm to .375, you'll have to expand the neck in stages, like going to .338, then .358, then .375.

Even if you do this, I'd still expect the body of the brass to be too big, no matter how much you try to squeeze it down.

I make 8mm RemMag cases by necking and blowing out 300 H&H cases. I understand the .375 case is very similar to the .300 in shoulder diameter. It would seem you'd have to do a lot of "crunching" to get the shoulder of the 8mm back to the diameter of the .375.

You'd be best off, in my opinion, by selling the 8mm brass and using the money to buy .375 brass. You may even make a little money on the deal.
