Covid-19 milsurp prices skyrocketing? Will they hold after the virus diminishes

So lately on ####### ( even on here once or twice ) I've seen some old BASIC ( meaning nothing fancy, scratches and refurbished mix match serial #'s) milsurps ex. Russian/chinese sks, mosin m91/30, tokarev tt, k98, lee enflied jungle carbine .
within the last 30 days they have DOUBLED in market price??
Today on ####### a bare bones chinese sks is $600 and sold!!
So does that mean the better quality Russians are worth $600+ now
Mosins are hitting $500-600
Yugo kr98 hitting $900-$1000
Tokarev tt-33 - $450-500
Svt40- $1000

What I dont get is thats the used market prices ............. the stores like bullseye, g4c, wolverine supplies, ellwood eps, etc. Still sell these guns for the normal price ( maybe +10-15% due to $ value) but not doubled. Chinese sks at bullseye still are $279 mosins still $399 tokarev still $299

Why dont people buy from stores and stop this influx in used market prices ?? I personally feel more confident buying firearms from a store than in person...
Once this virus cools off are these market prices going to readjust or maintain now that there selling at higher prices ?

I havent been in the sport long enough to see the results of world wide issues and how firearms adjust like the 2008 recession or other issues in last 20 years .....
 
Personally I think the price will calm down then drop hard. People want to spend there money at those prices so be it, but its a stupid way to waste your money at the moment. Especially for guns that are in obsolete calibers that you don't have a stock pile of ammo for.

Depending on how long people are on lockdown for and how stringent the lockdown gets will determine how much the price drops. Firearms for the most part are a nicety in this country not a necessity. When bills need to be paid the extras start to go.

AS a general rule ,you cannot sell for those prices. Only if you find a sucker.
 
Suckers are desperate to find a gun they were too slow to buy earlier. Just like hoarding TP. Also, many sellers are trying to make up for lost income. They don’t sell much so they believe their guns are worth far more than they are. Like a rich kid trying to sell the clapped out winged rice burner his grandma gave him.

If the buyer is a sucker it is. I been watching a auction and a SMLE with a grenade launcher has a pre-bid of $1700.00 on it. It is wire wrapped which "may" be original but no mention on it as to numbers matching,bore condition etc etc.
 
Post the ad, not credible in the least without a source. Maybe it is Fake News or a Shill Bidder that never paid. It happens all the time on the US auctions like GB.

The $650 chinese gun is near the bottom of front page if you search ontario only there are 2 russian sks for $700 + bare bones nothing special. same thing with the other guns. There are many more

I told that guy to #### off, cabelas has them for 219. He responded it with "��go buy one at cabelas then! This is for last minute corona preppers. They want it for that price they can have it."
