While I'm waiting for my Range application to reach the top of the pile, I'd like to visit a few CAS competitions. Why not learn while I'm on "hold", right?:)

Does anyone know of any meets or competitions in the GTA this summer? I'd love to come out, watch, learn, and get to meet you folks  .

Thanks

Howdy, There's quite a few shoots through the summer in Southern Ontario, and you'd be welcome to come on out and watch til all you paperwork is together. Here's a link that should help ouhttp://www.wssclub.com/shooting.htmt:
The next shoot I'll be at is June 16th at Islington. Maybe see you there. My cowboy name is "Wildcat O'Shea". Happy trails.

Thanks for the link, that's exactly what I was looking for. If you could PM me the directions to Islinton club along with some timings on the day's events, I'll make every effort (avoid "honey-doo lists) to get there!

One thing I love about CAS is there is no complaining like all our other action shooting sports. Everyone seems happy! One of these days I'll switch over and never look back!

After 10 years in IPSC (BC & Saskatchewan), I got sick of the #####ing and whinning (my personal opinion, live with it) and gave Cowboy Action a try. This year I've been shooting Cowboy Action for 10 years and honestly you can't meet a nicer group of people who are just shooting to have FUN!

That's the perfect atmosphere I need. After a week at work listening to people #####, whine, moan and complain, to get out with a bunch of folks who are just there to have fun and enjoy the sport... that'll bring the old BP down a ton! :D

CASS in fort mcmurray...

I wish there was any kind of Cowboy Action in fort mcmurray.

5 1/2 drive to what I belive is the nearest in Camrose.:bangHead:

I started a thread offering a suggestion a while back.
My suggestion was that this site add 1 forum to the 40 or so we have and call it "local clubs". This would offer a way to improve communication within the clubs. I could post an interest in Cowboy Action shooting at the very fine Fort Mcmurray club.

My suggestion got removed my a moderator.

Howdy C. Smith:

Your original post asked for information about matches in the GTA; We are a little out of that area ;) but I thought you or some of the others in the thread might be interested in what is going on in Eastern Ontario this summer. You can go to http://www.grenvillefishandgame.com/CAS and follow the links to our matches, and results so far. :)

The Frontenac Rifle and Pistol Club just had a great match last weekend with over twenty some shooters coming from as far away as Mississauga. EOHC will be having a match on June 23rd, and Grenville Fish and Game Club has one at the end of July. A new club, Club de tir des Loisirs de Granby, has joined the 'circuit' this season and plans to have 3 matches.

What Bear Child said X2.
CAS folks are friendly and helpful. If they weren't, they'd still be in Dipstick:p
That said, most cowboys and gals are willing to loan you something to get through a stage or two and helpers are always welcome.;)
Trying to bring some of your own CAS ammo is also a big plus even if you don't have the irons yet.:shotgun:

Say, Bear Child .. do you mind telling me where exactly you are located, Eastern Ontario-wise?

My U.E.L. forebearers (surname is Rombough) were settled in the Osnabruck area of Stormont Township .... Have always meant to get out there for a visit (I'm a born and raised Westerner) and knowing that there are active Cowboy Action clubs in the area would add another inducement!

OK then X 4:D
Bear Child! Stop double posting!:slap:
And get your stuff ready for next Saturday.;)
I'll have those things you like, made from lips and noses etc, you know,
those,.. what do ya call 'em... tube steaks or hotdogs.
