Got my restricted and am extremely interested in joining CAS/SASS. What do I need for guns/rifles? I've got lots of the cowboy garb, pants, hat, chaps, boots etc..
What chamberings of the guns are allowed?

I googled Cowboy Action Shooting once and I think that I got over 15,000 responses. The firearms are generally of a style or model made previous to 1900. Pretty much lever action rifles, pump action or double barelled shotguns and single action revolvers without adjustable sights. Calibres range from .38 spl, .357, 44-40 to .45 LC. Good luck.

Ruger Vaqueros or Italian copies of Single action armies are popular in any calibre-lever guns are marlin 1894 or Winchester 66. 73. etc. made by Uberti, etc, and need to be in the same calibre as your handguns.
Depending on what class of shooter you want to be (see the SASS website) side by side double shotguns or lever 1887's or 1897 pumps are common.
We just had the Canadian championships at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta last weekend- a great match with lots of shooters.
Check the Alberta Frontier Shootisis web page for more info.
Welcome to the most fun you can have with firearms!
