Here is the lot; I was told most of these are tour bring-backs from Bosnia and Afghanistan, which has me a little worried, with a few local finds. Yes; those pickles were delicious.

He told me this is a post-war Yugo Bayonet for an M48 Mauser...but it says clearly 44 on it, so...?

This, he thinks is a Sweedish bayonet. Not sure if what is left of the scabbard is correct.

I think this is an Indian SMLE short-pattern bayonet and looks too good to be true, IMO. Kyber Pass souvenir?

Obligatory No4 Enfield Bayonet; the late war near ersatz model, i think. This still has grease on it.

Thoughts? These guys are looking to clean house, but i don't want to rip them off. They had them up for 60 bucks for the lot. At the same time, I like good steel and I have seen some crazy prices for bayonets these days.

Thanks for your time.

Post WW2 refurbed German K98k's from Yugoslavia are marked Preduzece 44 on the side rail. I think it was the arsenal where the work took place. Bayonets may have been refurbished German ones as well.

This one:

Is the "square pommel" India-made SMLE bayonet. But I have never seen one in such a good shape. The blade seems a bit long but I am by no means knowledgeable on these ones. It does look authentic though. If it is, it would be worth good money for the devoted bayo collector.

I would buy that Swiss bayo.My model 1911 could use it :)

That India made SMLE bayo is likely modern made replica. When I was shopping for replica bayos myself I found those among others.Condition of sheath might be a good clue.

The Swiss Bayo (M1889 A.K.A M1911 ) is serialed numbered to a 1904 manufacture 1889/96, later upgraded to a 96/11.
Definetly need some TLC and some Flitz or Autosol.

Should look like this:

Indeed. The P14 / M1917 bayonet on its own is an easy $100 or more.

It's a Winchester Pattern 1913 bayonet, and the going rate on e-bay for one like that is closer to $275 right now.

Gaf: If I had that lot and a buddy talked me out of it for $60, he would no longer be a buddy once I found out how I'd been had.

The Ishapore bayonet by itself is a $60 item all day long, and then some, at most gun shows.

Those welded construction MkIII spike bayos are selling $20-25 on most tables and are moving at that price. They are somewhat less common than other variants these days, I think many were crapped post-war.

If it's good steel I don't care, but again; Afghanistan and Kyber Pass copies, you know?

I offered them 300 for the lot and they weren't comfortable with it, but I talked them into it. They didn't want to accept that much for them.

Remind me to negotiate with you one day... cou:

There's times when I just want to make the deal and GTFO; like in a gun auction where I'm getting a nice Stevens 520 for 110...I just want to shut my mouth and get on with it. Or on ebay, where every one else is sleeping that day and I basically rip the guy off. But working with people who are friends, or co-workers, someone I might trade with again someday, or a little old lady who doesn't know better, I want to at least pay something that I am not going to feel bad about later.

A little while ago, I picked up a pair of Neos at a thrift shop. Anyone know what those are? Waterproof overboots; cat's derriere IMO. Normally $110, these were new and they wanted $5. I gave em $20 and walked away. They were confused me paying more, but it's my conscience I have to live with.

I have these now and I am planning on Selling the Swiss, Yugo and No 4 Bayonets.

I know there is some interest to be had on EE and such. Not thinking that ebay would be my friend here.

Someone once said 'character' is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Good on ya! This world could do with a few more like you. 👍
