This activity has peaked in interest in me.
What does one need to spend and do you need the add on speaker?

Any Black Friday deals?

WSY?

If you are starting into predator calling, just get a couple of mouth blown calls and go try them out. WAY cheaper than electronic calls, easier to carry, and just as effective. The only advantage to electronic calls is that you can set them up where you aren't, which makes the animals look elsewhere, but we like to hunt in pairs (just because it's fun to have company) so we will take turns calling from fairly good concealment while the other "covers" what we think are the approaches likely to be used.

We started using the cheapest Foxpro electronic caller and it's great. The best thing about them is the coyotes focus on the unit, not you. If possible get one that includes a MOVING wobbler as they do focus on the movement once they come in. Hand callers are nice but now your hands are moving with the call piece plus you don't have both hands on your rifle ready for the shot. Either is nice but the electronics are superior. (My opinion)

Only thing with mouth blown calls is freezing in -20F I guess electronic cold hard on batteries.

Calls freezing is not very hard to prevent. Don't have a lot of electronic experience, but when we have used them, we just bring spare batteries somewhere warm and switch, if necessary, between sets.

I run a foxpro crossfire. Seems to be a decent unit. I have 112 sound files on it. It can hold 500. Always works well and I run energizer rechargeables in it. Saves you a bundle in the long run especially hunting in cold temps. Don't know what they sell for nowadays but if memory serves I paid around $250 for it in 2014 or 2015?

With the advent of rechargeable batteries the options are as deep as your pocket book.
From a couple hundie to 1500 hundie for the sooper dooper electronic callers.
Kinda like the ghetto blaster of predator/varmint callers.
Seen some in the EE over the years for decent priced at $200 and upwards.
Good Hunting.

I have a primos alpha dog and its pretty good but i get just as many hand calling. So i would suggest get a rabbit distress and a fawn distress for spring and thebone i have the best luck with is a rodent distress if they are close they come running.

I picked up the FoxPro patriot and love it. The remote has good range and I usually set the call out about 100 meters. Comes with all the calls preprogrammed. Now I just need the decoy...

I'd say find a deal on a foxpro. Spring for the extra $$ and get the tx-1000 remote for less headache all around.

I wouldn't say you need the external speaker on most models unless you're in the wide open prairies but they make models just for that game too.

I've used mine in extreme cold and they work very well.

My advice, pick up a distress closed reed and an open reed howler. Add a set of sticks and a seat and your favorite rifle/ shotgun and get after them. Once you know that your hooked on the sport then add a Ecaller ( if you then think its necessary) CT has a primos ki-yi and big dog set on for 29$ you can do any and everything with those two calls. Have fun

Lucky Duck has worked very well for me. I haven't had to wait for longer then 10 minutes before they come running in.

Using diaphragm mouth calls only this year for fun. Called in a double today and popped a young female. Coyoting is so much fun

A few that fell victim to a FoxPro last week. $1K in fur in a few hunts.

You must have some damn good coyote populations ! I’m lucky if I see a dozen or two a season and I hunt ALOT

Im in the best yote country in the world here in southern Sask......Im not a great coyote hunter, just fortunate to have the numbers. The FoxPro Shockwave has made me a better hunter with being able to get sounds away from me and the volume in pumps out. Im not familar with any other calls but Foxpro is well made and customer support is bang on.
