Coyote/deer rifle to fill the gap

Many calibers mentioned seem to miss the mark if you are serious about the 400-600yd , the 257wby with 120gr. bullets would work but the 270wsm with 130gr. bullets would be the best choice.

At those ranges the 150s in the .270 WSM leave the 130s wanting...but the OP is looking for a coyote/deer rifle and the .243 is by far the best choice! With the 105 to 115gr VLDs it is a very capable performer out to 1000yds...it will even give the famed 6.5-284 a run for its money!

Edit: The .243 AI if the OP is handloader as well.
