Thanks guys. Smacked another one last week but couldn't get a pic but story is more exciting. Was sitting at a different property Friday evening to scope out deer situation. I was watching a huge doe with 2 fawns and another doe and 2 fawns each on opposite sides of railway tracks I was sitting on. The big doe and her fawns were feeding in the field when at dusk a buck came out and started walking towards them. The doe put her head down and was running the buck off when 2 coyotes emerge from the bush at the top end of the field. The does head goes up and she must have warned her fawns as they busted into the bush. Then the doe took after the coyotes running them into the bush but less than 5 seconds later came flying out with them on her heels and ran her to opposite side of the field. Within 5 minutes the fawns were back out looking for mom and I could see the first coyote coming back across towards them but could only see the top of its back as it was right along the long grass between us but the second one walked up the hill into the open giving me the chance I needed and I put it down. On a side note the next night I saw the big doe out with 3 fawns this time so it looks as they made it through the ordeal ok.
