Always wanted to hunt coyotes over dogs.
When I first started hunting I hunted crown land where the locals ran hounds for deer so I've had a few deer ran past me before. Nothing quite like the feeling you get when you hear those hounds tonguing and getting closer... and closer.
Absolutely! We have access to one strip of bush which we can push with one person and one dog. Our springer spaniel does the job . If you are the shooter and here the dog start to bark, you have about 30 seconds before the coyote shows up. Our stand area overlooks a dry slough, which is where most of the coyotes will end up crossing right below the shooter at anywhere from 10 to 40 yards. We only use shotguns for this area.
