No I don't have a problem with coyotes eating my cats, it's the other way around. It seems I have a couple kittens that have acquired a taste for coyote meat. Even though their dish of cat food is full they are out at my fur shed eating the coyote carcasses. Gets me into even more trouble with the wife as now the kittens stink and the kids don't want to play with them. So for all you guys that are wondering what to do with the carcass after you shoot a coyote cat food seems to be an viable solution. I just find it ironic that while most people worry about the coyotes eating their cats, its the coyotes that have to worry about being eaten by the cats around my place.

I might have to trade you some cats I have the opposite problem.

Well, if the lead isnt flying the Cats are not eating...
I mean the fur aint drying ;)
I would make sure your cats have all their shots up to date, just in case there is something down the road that will cause
some discomfort for them down the road.

WTH is the deal with word structure on here lately, "Vehicle chasing coyote", "Coyote eating cats". Are you guys all Italian? "Throw the horse over the fence some hay"

I have nothing else to add, I don't like cats or coyotes. :)

Yep... I've been conned by one too many thread titles...

Nothing wrong with cats . hopefully the cats don't end up with Rabies or distemper. I'm not sure if those two Illnesses die off after the animial it's liveing in passes . just thinking .

Might want to check with one of your local Chinese restaurants, see if they'll take your coyote carcasses, or the cats , while you're asking. :)

Grizz

a carcass is a carcass to a cat.
cats are born predators...my cats usually thrive on muskrat carcasses for part of the year...they really like em, but to date haven't been able to teach em to hunt em up and bring em home themselves...course if you've ever got in the way of a swamprat you know why... :)

One day I was skinning a coyote and the barn cats were watching me. For giggles I cut off a chunk and threw it to them, well over the next 7 days they were fed the meat off the entire frozen carcass. I think it was payback though. It might have been the one who ate their mother. Cats have a strong digestive system.

I'm not too worried about the cats getting sick as they are basically barn cats that get to come into the garage for a night if it gets too cold out. I do know for a fact that the rabies virus starts to die as the body temp cools down so that is not an issue. The biggest problem I can see is if I don't get more time to get out calling the cats may decide to go out hunting for themselves. No matter how tough they might think they are the coyotes would still win. Sorry about the title thread but a guy has to have a little fun on these cold winter nights.
