South Eastern Ontario coyote hunters...

I am looking to get into coyote hunting here in the Trenton, Belleville, Bancroft area, and would like to know if there is a fellow CGNer in this area that would be willing to go and show me the ropes?

I understand that there is some good coyote hunting just south of Bancroft area?

PM me if you are interested or are in the area. Or post here if you know of some heavily populated crown land areas in this neck of the woods.

Thanks
Steve

You know, if this was an internet dating site.... I'd be pretty lonely:D

Still looking for a hunting partner to bag some coyotes in this area.
PM or post if you are a coyote hunter in SE Ontario area.

Thanks

Kinda late in the season to be looking for coyote hunting partners. I expect you'd have more success in the fall, to be honest.

CV32, coyote hunting is legal here all year round. Keeps the hunting juices flowing while waiting for the other seasons to open.

My comments had nothing to do with whether there was an open season. Its open year round (or most of the year) in other provinces too. But its just a fact of life that most folks do their coyote hunting from October through March. (That's not a commentary on whether you should hunt any particular time of year, btw).

no problem, and I understand what you are saying....:p
Still looking for a hunting buddy, cause my current hunting buddies are not interested in coyotes.

Me too

Funny thing I live in the KW region and have been looking to hunt coyotes for a while and I am looking for a partner. Too bad you are so far away. Good luck on finding a good solid partner.

I am in the Kingston area and I LOVE to hunt coyotes. I haven't been out in a couple of years though so my calling skills will be a little rusty. Actually I have hunted a couple times over hounds lately and while it is very exciting it is a different hunt than calling. You can PM me if you like, but I am busy right now training my pointers to get them ready for the spring hunt test, but I might be able to free up an afternnoon or two to go hunt some song dogs. :dancingbanana:

you guys should have good luck out that way, holy cow there are a lot of coyotes out Kingston way....

Yeah lots of dogs out our way...too many really. I have noticed a decline in almost all game animal populations in the last couple of years. Deer, grouse, turkey, rabbit, all are down and I think a combination of numerous coyotes and a bad winter in 2007-08 really knocked game animals back a bit.

I know coyotes are only doing what they are supposed to do, but its us against them and we have the guns!!!:sniper:
