My Dad and I were looking to do some coyote hunting in the Lower Mainland, we're just not familiar with any good spots. Does anyone know any crown land, friendly farmers or general areas that are alright for coyote hunting? Much appreciated.

Anyone? I can go further into the interior too. Or if you guys don't want to give away your favourite spots, you could send me a PM.

With the bulk of the Lower Mainland being private land, finding an area where you can get permission will take some time knocking on doors in areas where you have seen coyotes. The other limiting factor is the abundance of buildings scattered throughout the farmland and bush areas that continually put you to in no shooting areas due to the restrictions on firearm discharge within proximities to buildings according to municipal bylaws. While these municipal bylaws are not generally enforced (yet), there are more greenies around all the time and although the powers that be may allow 'Farmer Joe' to shoot coyotes on his property, non locals may not be offered the same opportunity.
The interior and the amount of crown land available in the Merrit or Princeton areas may be a safer option.

Try the dairy farms between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Shotgun and a caller set up in the black berries. Getting permission for coyotes shouldn't be that hard as the coyote sheds a parasite that gets put into the grass sileage and causes cows to abort.
It's been a few years since I lived there but both that area and Mission /deroche etc. should offer some opportunities.
The areas on the north shore of the Fraser like Sylvester road etc. should be good for coyotes and bobcat. I'm not familiar with bobcat regs so check before you go calling.
Should be able to call a cougar as well.

Do you guys know any specific pieces of crown land between Meritt and Princeton? Thats a big distance.
