Hey Hunters,

Just thought I would share My Yote with you guys. I just got him back from the taxidermist on Wednesday. It took 14 months to be completed. We'll worth the wait.

Let me know what you guys think.

tell us the story on how you got the coyote.

I'm glad you asked! Exciting story behind this one! Its Saturday Feb. 26. I drive my girlfriend to do her PAL in the morning and go off by myself for a morning hunt. It's about 9:30am and a calm -16 degrees. I am walking for about 30 mins. and am dead tired from packing all that extra weight up the mountain. (I have my gun, ammo, electronic, and mouth calls, Binoculars ,a range finder, food, water, a chair... ect.) I notice I'm starting to sweat and i don't want the coyotes to smell me so i throw down my equipment to rest and take a few deep breaths. I look over and sure enough 109 yards out i see a pair of ears sticking up from beside some sage. Still being a bit light headed i think I'm hallucinating (haha) How did I not scare off this coyote? I was by no means being quite as i crunched through the frozen snow, but he just lay there and watched me! He must have thought I posed no threat to him as he put his head back down and tried to go back to sleep. I slowly loaded 2 rounds into my .270 win and began to line him up. As I mentioned before I'm dead tired and can't hold steady on him. I slowly grab my chair and set it up for a shooting rest. The coyote hears me an looks up again...this time it's his last. I hold for his chest, squeeze the trigger, and dust-rolled him. This is my FIRST EVER COYOTE! Turns out he was a big male maybe even the old ring leader as he was not the slightest bit afraid of me.

Just curious what a mount like that costs and does Bernie do rugs as well?

Bernie will do rugs. He has a beautiful black wolf rug in his living room he showed me. This mount cost me just under $1800. This included skinning and HST. He was right around the same price as everywhere else I called, but was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I am so glad I took my coyote to him. It turned out perfect! I will never take an animal anywhere else! You may have to wait a while to get your animal back as he is always so busy. Like a said 14 months for a coyote...well worth every Penny and the long wait!

Im wondering how much a rug would be

Call your local Taxidemist. He should be able to give you a generic rate. If not, call the next Taxidermist until you find someone that will. Do not go with the cheapest guy. Find the busiest most experienced guy and try to forget about it until he calls you back. These things are worth waiting for!
