Many of the coyotes I have gotten are when I am sitting at the kitchen table, I open the sliding patio door, slip the rifle out and take the shot.

Kitchen window for me, coyote was in the brush just past the horse paddock less than 100 yards.
Off the deck, out the back door, or just out for a hike. Wherever, and whenever. One of the many benefits of living in the middle of nowhere.
By the way, there seems to be more coyotes showing up this year than usual. No idea why, maybe just an uptick in the population cycle.

My wife has been telling me she has had 7 or 8 coyote sightings in the last week in our backyard. Well they finally showed up when i was home. Grabbed the closest rifle to the safe door. Happened to be my 308 from last seasons deer hunt. Grabbed 2 rounds and raced up to the family room. Opened the window and popped out the screen. Used the back of the couch as a rest. 105 yard shot with the yote facing me chest on. Put the hairs on the center of the chest and sent a 165 grain accubond down the tube.

Ah you were cheating eh ? using the back of the couch as a rest lol . good shot and with the 308 it wasn't going anywhere . your dog has a nice shiny coat . well taken care of . a pit- lab . quite the combination. keep shooting those coyotes . again good shooting .

Actually exit wound was smaller than i thought. Bullet traveled the length of the body and exited the arse hole - not sure if that mitigated the exit size.
I used a 2506 once from the kitchen. Couldnt reach fully over the microwave and shot anyway. Turns out glass from a muzzleblast come back at you and scatter across the room. Dead coyote but a hell of a mess in the kitchen
